Education Without Borders: Baitursynuly University Joined AIUTA

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Baitursynuly University (KRU) and the International Association of Universities of the Third Age (AIUTA).

“KRU has taken a significant step in supporting people over 55 in their pursuit of lifelong education during their ‘silver age,’” noted Elmira Nauryzbayeva, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. “Our university and the Association, recognizing the importance of developing lifelong learning at the international level, agreed to promote and advance the ideas of ‘Universities of the Third Age’ as a form of social and cultural participation for older people.”

This means supporting the concept of lifelong learning, ensuring access to educational programs for people over 55, and fostering academic, cultural, and social exchange within AIUTA.

In addition, KRU will actively participate in research in gerontology, social pedagogy, sociology, and related sciences, as well as in international educational and scientific projects.

In practice, this involves the development and implementation of joint educational programs for people 55+, conducting joint research and conferences, as well as training and professional development of specialists in adult education.

Our students, faculty members, and experts will be able to participate in AIUTA programs, contribute to joint scientific publications, and co-develop teaching materials.

Alongside this, various cultural, educational, and social events will be organized with the active involvement of all stakeholders.

The International Association of Universities of the Third Age (IAUTA) is a reputable organization that includes universities from Europe, Asia, and America.
It was founded in 1973 to support older people in their pursuit of education and to encourage the exchange of knowledge accumulated by the senior generation.
