The New Constitution: Architecture of the Future

A concluding discussion dedicated to the upcoming national referendum was held at Baitursynuly University under the theme: “The New Draft Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan: A Vector for the Renewal of Statehood.”

The keynote speaker, Ainur Maisatayeva, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Law of KRU, outlined the key amendments and strategic priorities embedded in the new Constitution.

According to the speaker, the draft is designed to strengthen the state’s orientation toward the interests of the people, reinforce national values, and enhance the effectiveness of political institutions.

Sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity are enshrined as immutable constitutional values, thereby ensuring legal stability and continuity of the state.

The discussion also focused on strengthening the political role of citizens. The people of Kazakhstan, as the primary source of sovereignty, are granted a distinct constitutional status.

Particular attention was paid to a newly introduced provision aimed at safeguarding citizens’ rights in the digital environment — a significant step in adapting constitutional guarantees to contemporary challenges.

Faculty members of the Agricultural Sciences Department, as well as the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Information Technologies, shared their perspectives on the country’s new strategic development trajectory and actively participated in the dialogue.

Participants unanimously emphasized that an active civic stance is the foundation of progress across all spheres of state development.

The first step toward this goal is to come to your polling station on March 15 and cast your vote for the future of the country.
