Don’t Be Deceived

Representatives from the Police Department and the Department of Economic Investigations of the Kostanay Region are holding awareness meetings with students of Kostanay Regional University (KRU).

The goal is to prevent cybercrime and the illegal activity known as "dropper services" (involvement in fraudulent financial transactions).

Today, informational sessions were conducted for students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Energy, and Information Technologies.

Students were once again reminded how to protect themselves, improve their financial literacy, and avoid being drawn into fraudulent schemes.

It is worth noting that in Kazakhstan, criminal liability has been established for participating in dropper activities.

Handed over your bank card, shared personal account details, or made a money transfer "for a reward"?

That’s not easy money — it’s a crime under Article 232-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Even if you "just agreed to help" and were unaware of the crime — under the law, you are considered an accomplice.
