It has become a cherished tradition for librarians to invite students and faculty from the Department of Language and Literature Theory at U. Sultangazin Pedagogical University to their events. On November 14, two such events took place.
At the Kostanay Regional Scientific Library named after L. N. Tolstoy, students of the third year in the "Russian Language and Literature" program met with Ekaterina Baynyasheva, a journalist from Nash Kostanay newspaper and a jury member of the regional online contest "Read and Win." Ekaterina shared her impressions of the competition, discussed the participation conditions, and explained how books for reading are selected. The conversation sparked lively interest among the students.
Meanwhile, a roundtable titled "The Library and the Reader: Prospects for Developing Relationships" was held at the "Yuzhny" library branch. Invited guests included K. K. Segizbayeva, Ph.D. in Philology and Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Language and Literature Theory; M. S. Tuyganov, Associate Professor of the Department of Penal Law at the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Shrakbek Kabylbayev and a police lieutenant colonel; and Yu. Ya. Bondarenko, Ph.D. in Philosophy, Professor.
Participants exchanged views on the role of books in the spiritual, cultural, and intellectual development of individuals and the library's role in preserving and developing languages. Topics such as linguistic tolerance and communication culture generated genuine interest and were actively discussed by city schoolteachers who attended the event.
