The meeting was attended by Danat Zhumin, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Kyrmyzy Zhanbyrshina, Independent Director.
The agenda focused on the university’s staffing levels, improving research performance and the commercialization of research outcomes, as well as the implementation of the Board’s decisions during the first half of 2026.
The Board noted positive trends across key performance indicators, including an increase in the university’s revenue.
Following the meeting, members of the Board of Directors and KRU management visited the Smart Center and Building No. 4, where renovation work has recently been completed.
At the Research Institute of Innovative Technologies, the guests were introduced to research laboratories, state-of-the-art equipment, and promising areas of research. Today, the Institute brings together expertise in physical and chemical research, materials science, environmental monitoring, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, artificial intelligence, reverse engineering, prototyping, and advanced metallurgical technologies.
A separate part of the visit was dedicated to student innovations. At the university’s Technopark, the guests were shown a student-developed racing car and unmanned aerial vehicles used as part of a research and technology project to monitor agricultural areas, natural resources, and infrastructure facilities.
The guests were also introduced to student startup projects.
During the visit, members of the Board of Directors learned about the work of the Department of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence.
University specialists presented a proctoring system and AI agents developed at KRU.
The visit to KRU’s research and technological infrastructure demonstrated how the university’s strategic priorities are being translated into practical projects, innovative solutions, and real-world developments.
