There is a bronze medal from the World Cup!

The capital has concluded the semi-annual competitions, Championships, and all stages of the RK Cup in speed skating.

Teams from the North Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions, Karaganda, Almaty, Kostanay, and Khromtau participated in the extensive sports events. The competitions included distances of 500, 1000, 1500, and 3000 meters.

Representatives from Kostanay Regional University participated in the RK Championships as speed skaters-students of the Department of Theory and Practice of Physical Culture and Sports.

For instance, student Vadim Yakubovsky took first place, outperforming competitors in the 3000 and 1500 meters distances. In the 1000 meters race, he came in second.

The longest distance of 5000 meters brought Vadim third place. Freshman Andrey Semenov became first among juniors in the 1000 and 1500 meters distances, and second in the 500 meters distance.

It is important to note that Andrey Semenov is included in the junior national team of RK and participated in the intermediate stages of the World Cup in Japan, where he became a bronze medalist in the team sprint final.
