Akhmet Baitursynuly Regional University in Kostanay has established academic ties with universities from 16 countries around the world. Both students and teachers feel the results of effective international cooperation. This includes internships, exchange programs, joint research projects, and the most in-demand double degree educational programs.
Since 2021, Baitursynuly University has been implementing a double degree program with Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania, Kaunas). Cooperation between KRU and the Lithuanian university includes both double degree projects and scientific collaborations.
This year, for the first time in the Kostanay region, two students of the Economics and Law faculty of KRU completed their education in the "Accounting and Audit" program with a double degree. At the ceremony, the students were awarded two diplomas - one from Akmeth Baitursynuly Regional University and one from Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania.
"Our goal is to provide more opportunities for our students," emphasized KRU Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev at the graduation ceremony. "We annually expand the list of double degree educational programs. Our graduates gain experience from top foreign universities while studying both in Kostanay and abroad."
The graduates shared their impressions of studying in the double degree program.
"A double degree is about great opportunities," noted Aliya Syzdyk. "It's a unique chance to receive education from two universities in one period of study. I want to thank our KRU, teachers – for helping, believing in us, and the knowledge gained."
"During the year, we were in Kaunas," added Sabina Kabdyeva. "Through studying, we improved our English skills and gained valuable knowledge on international financial reporting standards. This opens up great opportunities for employment. Additionally, we traveled a lot in our free time, visiting different countries in Europe. Another advantage of a double degree is the opportunity to see the world and broaden one's horizons."
