The university hosted a roundtable discussion titled “A Life in Service to the Nation’s Spirituality: The Work and Mentorship of Professor K.Kh. Zhakyp.”
The event brought together the honoree’s colleagues, friends, and former students, as well as representatives of the region’s academic and cultural community. Among the participants were staff members of the Kostanay Regional State Archive, the I. Altynsarin Memorial Museum, the L. Tolstoy Regional Universal Scientific Library, the Regional Museum of History and Local Lore, and the I. Altynsarin Specialized Boarding School-Gymnasium.
Kalkaman Khasenovich is a profound philosopher, scholar, and mentor who has devoted his life to serving science and education. Over the years of his academic career, he has educated multiple generations of students who are now successfully working across the country.
Participants highlighted the scholar’s academic legacy, his contribution to the development of national spirituality, and his significant role in shaping the worldview of young people. The event served not only as a tribute but also as a platform for reflecting on his life path and professional experience.
Bakytzhan Narymbetov, Deputy Akim of Kostanay Region, emphasized the honoree’s contribution to regional development, particularly his active work in the field of onomastics. Congratulatory letters from Kumар Aksakalov, Akim of the region, and Aida Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Minister of Culture and Information, were also presented.
Seiitbek Kuanyshbayev, Rector of KRU, awarded the honoree the “Akhmet Baitursynuly” badge from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and presented a traditional chapan on behalf of the university staff. He noted the scholar’s outstanding contribution to the development of education and his dedication to mentoring the younger generation.
