The republic-wide campaign "One Country – One Book" is taking place in Kazakhstan, initiated by the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Association of Librarians of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This traditional event, in its seventeenth year, is dedicated to the works of the famous playwright, writer, and public figure Tolen Abdykov. The campaign aims to promote the best works of national literature and engage youth in spiritual and patriotic education.
Within the week, the Department of Language and Literature Theory organized a round table at the South Branch Library on the theme "Tolen Abdykov – Master of Modern Kazakh Prose." Students from the Kazakh Language and Literature program at KRU named after A. Baytursynuly and 2nd-year students from the Kostanay Higher Pedagogical College participated.
Candidates of Philological Sciences, Kenzhegul Segizbayeva, and Kulzada Myrzagalieva, presented on the topic. The participants discussed the specifics of his works, the characters, and the philosophical value and tragic collisions of human life. Students Indira Artyqbay and Aruzhan Muratqyzy presented Tolen Abdykov's works "Qyz Batish pen Erseyit" and "Ong Qol" for discussion. The guests exchanged opinions and supported the "One Country – One Book" campaign.
The meeting concluded with a book exhibition review titled "Writer's Wisdom," dedicated to Tolen Abdykov's works.
