First Semester in Łódź

Łódź—a city with a fascinating history. Its name translates to “boat,” as many rivers once flowed through it. Today, this industrial center of Poland is the backdrop for the student life of Baitursynuly University participants.

Ten students from the educational programs “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages,” “Chemistry-Biology,” and “Physics” have started their studies at the University of Łódź. Although they have only recently arrived in Poland, their excitement is palpable.

“At first, it was difficult and unfamiliar—it’s a foreign country after all,” shared Zhansaya Zhunis. “But I’ve already adapted. What impressed me most is the architecture of Łódź. It harmoniously combines historical and modern buildings. The city is cozy and clean, and there are so many dogs here—almost every local has a pet.”

The University of Łódź has proven to be as welcoming as the city itself. While the Kostanay students are just beginning to immerse themselves in the academic process, they are already achieving their first successes.

We wish them a successful start!
