Master's degree

Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly provides training for master's degree students in two directions: scientific-pedagogical master's program with a duration of 2 years, and specialized master's program with a duration of 1 year.

Admission to the master's program is based on the results of comprehensive testing (CT) according to a 150-point scale system for the scientific-pedagogical direction and a 70-point scale system for the specialized direction.

Candidates applying for the master's degree programs in the scientific-pedagogical direction (2-year program) take CT, which consists of THREE blocks:

Block 1 - "Foreign Language Test". It consists of sections: listening, vocabulary-grammar, reading;

Block 2 - "Test for Determining Readiness for Learning". It consists of sections: critical thinking (elementary mathematics, interpretation of various forms of information), analytical thinking (analysis of academic and popular science texts, identification of hidden patterns, cause-and-effect relationships);

Block 3 - "Test on the Profile of Educational Program Groups". It consists of two profile disciplines.

The passing score for CT for admission to the master's degree programs in the scientific-pedagogical direction (2-year program) for paid enrollment and participation in the grant competition is:

not less than 75 POINTS, including:

• for the "Foreign Language" block - not less than 25 points;
• for the "Test for Determining Readiness for Learning" block - not less than 7 points;
• for the "Test on the Profile of Educational Program Groups" block, for the first profile discipline - not less than 7 points, for the second profile discipline - not less than 7 points.

Candidates applying for the master's degree programs in the specialized direction (1-year program) take CT, which consists of TWO blocks:

Block 1 - "Test for Determining Readiness for Learning". It consists of sections: critical thinking (elementary mathematics, interpretation of various forms of information), analytical thinking (analysis of academic and popular science texts, identification of hidden patterns, cause-and-effect relationships);

Block 2 - "Test on the Profile of Educational Program Groups". It consists of two profile disciplines.

The passing score for CT for admission to the master's degree programs in the specialized direction (1-year program) for paid enrollment is:

not less than 30 POINTS, including:

• for the "Test on the Profile of Educational Program Groups" block, for the first profile discipline - not less than 7 points;
• for the second profile discipline - not less than 7 points.

Individuals with international certificates confirming proficiency in a foreign language such as IELTS, TOEFL, DSH, TestDaF, TFI, DELF, DALF, TCF, and international certificates for passing the standardized GRE test must submit the certificate data when applying for participation in CT in electronic format and in the competition.

Applications for participation in comprehensive testing are accepted on the website of the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan https://app.testcenter.kz during the following periods:

• from June 1 to July 8 of the calendar year (summer admission);
• from October 28 to November 10 of the calendar year (winter admission).

Individuals with at least five years of experience in managerial positions according to the register of positions of political and administrative civil servants, the register of positions of civil servants of corresponding sectors, or at least ten years of experience in the corresponding profile of the master's degree program are enrolled on a paid basis based on the results of an interview conducted by the admission committees.

Admission of foreign citizens to the master's program is on a paid basis. The admission of foreigners on a competitive basis in accordance with the state order for free postgraduate education is determined by international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan, except for the scholarship program for master's programs. Documents on education issued by foreign educational institutions are recognized or nostrified in accordance with the established legislation.

Admission to the master's program for individuals who have served military service is on a paid basis within three years after completing military service without entrance exams, based on the results of an interview conducted by the admissions committees of the Higher Education Institution within the calendar year. At the same time, the enrollment of citizens who have served military service is carried out in accordance with the academic calendar 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period.

• Admission to the master's program is carried out during the following periods:

• from August 15 to August 28 of the calendar year (summer admission);
• from December 26 to January 10 of the calendar year (winter admission).

• List of documents for admission to the master's program:

• Three copies of an identity document;
• Six photos sized 3x4 centimeters;
• Medical certificate form 075/u (original and one copy);
• Certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language:
• for proficiency in English (if available): International English Language Tests System Academic, IELTS Academic, minimum score - not less than 6.0 points; Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Program Internet-based Test, TOEFL IBT, minimum score - not less than 60 points;
• for proficiency in German: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang, DSH - not lower than level B2; TestDaF-Prüfung, TDF - not lower than level B2;
• for proficiency in French: Test de Français International, TFI - not lower than level B2 in reading and listening sections; Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue française, DELF - not lower than level B2; Diplôme Approfondi de Langue française, DALF - not lower than level B2; Test de connaissance du français, TCF - not

• When providing an incomplete list of documents, the admission committee of the university does not accept documents.

Admission of foreign citizens to study at the magistracy on a paid basis is carried out based on the results of an interview conducted by the admission committees of the EHPE during the calendar year (documents on education issued by foreign educational organizations are recognized or nostrified in the manner prescribed by law).
