Debate tournament held at KRU

On January 28th-29th, 2023, the Republican debate tournament "Ұлт зиялылары көздеген мақсат" dedicated to the significant anniversaries of Kazakh intellectuals was held, organized by the "Akmet Urpaqtar" debate club.

Teams from 9 universities in Astana, Pavlodar, Aktobe, Semey, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Arkalyk, Rudny participated in the tournament, representing a total of 14 debate clubs, 32 factions, and 64 speakers.

Opening the tournament, Nurlykhan Temirbekov, Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Work of the university, wished all participants good luck.

The debate rounds were intense. The rounds focused on the social and political views of Kazakh intellectuals.

The results of the tournament are as follows:  1st place and a cash prize of 100,000 tenge was awarded to the "Pavlodar A" faction (Esenkul Akadil, Moldasapar Shyngys).

The finalists of the tournament were the "AҰ Once, AҰ Forever" faction (Zhaksylyk Bekhan, Slanbek Elemes) from Toraigairov University, the "Ayauлым" faction (Tursynbaeva Ayauлым and Balabbek Ayauлым), students of Shakarim State University, and the "Alihan Bokeikhan" faction (Aymagambetova Amina, Tungyshbek Arman) from KarGU named after E. Buketov. All finalists were awarded cash certificates of 50,000 tenge.

In addition, the winner of the youth final was awarded: the "Ikigai" faction (Karaganda) won a prize of 15,000 tenge.

Slanbek Elemes (Pavlodar) was named the best speaker, and Balakhmet Zuhra (Kostanay) was recognized as the best judge. They were awarded a cash prize of 15,000 tenge.

Daulet Orazbaev, a speaker from the "Parasat" debate club in Astana, who participates in all tournaments held by the club, shared his impressions and noted that the "Akmet Urpaqtar" discussion club has its own history, traditions, and has earned respect and recognition among debate clubs in Kazakhstan.

The tournament winner, Moldasapar Shyngys, thanked the "Akmet Urpaqtar" DC club and the university leadership for organizing the tournament.

The tournament winners were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes, and the participants received certificates.

Admission committee
