COUNTRY SHOULD KNOW EVERY HERO!

"Country Should Know Every Hero!" – that's the name of the campaign organized by students of the Pedagogical Institute named after U. Sultangazin in collaboration with the internal policy department of Kostanay in support of Kazakhstani athletes participating in the XIX Asian Games.

As known, the main continental event of the four-year cycle is taking place in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. Kazakhstan is represented by 524 athletes participating in 27 Olympic disciplines and three non-Olympic sports.

On Sunday, Kazakhstani athletes secured five medals – one silver and four bronze. Currently, the Kazakhstani team has accumulated 31 medals – 3 gold, 5 silver, and 23 bronze. Uzbekistan holds the highest position among the post-Soviet countries, ranking 5th (40 medals; 11-12-17). Below Kazakhstan are Tajikistan – 21st place (4 medals; 1-1-2), Kyrgyzstan – 24th place (3 medals; 1-0-2), and Turkmenistan – 27th place (3 medals; 0-1-2).

Eleven athletes from Kostanay are part of the Kazakhstani team, with a notable presence in jiu-jitsu (six wrestlers). This discipline begins on October 5th. Let's wish them luck in the upcoming competitions!
