Promoting Legal Literacy

The public association "Nationwide Movement Against Corruption 'ZHANARU,'" with the support of the "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives," is implementing the project "Conducting a set of activities to increase the legal literacy of youth and the level of trust in law enforcement agencies." As part of this project, a round table was held today in the conference hall of A. Baitursynuly University to raise awareness, legal protection, and legal literacy of youth against unlawful actions and inactions.

The event was attended by Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev, Deputy of the Kostanay Regional Maslikhat, editor of IA "TobolInfo" Alexandra Sergazinova, retired officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Major General Beket Aymagambetov, Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs in the Kostanay Region Erlan Salykbaev, First Deputy Head of the Department of the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency for Combating Corruption (Anti-Corruption Service) in the Kostanay Region Erzhan Lukpanov, and the head of the youth wing of the NGO "ZHANARU" "Zhaskaryn" Serik Ayazhan.

Speakers addressed not only trust in law enforcement agencies but also the formation of positive images of law enforcement officers in the youth community. Two short films featuring local heroes who became heroes of our time were shown to students. Students were also briefed on the results of the conducted project activities and were encouraged to participate in the development of proposals to be submitted to relevant government authorities.
