As part of the initiative to revive debating in schools, colleges, and universities across the country, the debate club "Ahmet Urpaqtary," in collaboration with the Youth Policy Department, organized the regional debate tournament "Sovereignty - the Invaluable Asset of the Country!" to coincide with the celebration of Kazakhstan Republic Day. Teams from debate clubs such as "Ahmet Urpaqtary," "Parasat" (A. Baitursynuly University), DESTAR (ChelSU), "Alash" (KINEU), Novus (School-Gymnasium 3, Tobyl), Dissonance (School-Lyceum 1, Kostanay), De Facto (Lyceum 4, Rudny), "Demosphen," TURAN (FML), "Batyr" (Fedorovsky district), "Spartak" (Zhitikara), Format-17 (School 17, Kostanay), GMG Debate Meetings (Gorky Gymnasium, Kostanay) participated, making the tournament not only interesting but also competitive.
Summing up the tournament, notable winners from the "Ahmet Urpaqtary" debate club were Sanzhar Zulkharnai and Alexandra Cherkassky. Alisher Koshkenbayev was recognized as the best speaker from the qualifying rounds. The tournament finalists were Angela Kutikova and Tulpar-Ali from the Xynta Legacy debate club. Also among the finalists were debaters from "Ahmet Urpaqtary," Alina Baylina, Kirill Yashchenko, and participants from the "Novus" debate club, Alisher Kishkenbayev, and Ruslana Voznyuk.
The debate club at Baitursynuly University has long been considered one of the strongest in the region, actively contributing to the promotion of debating in other educational institutions in the city and region.
