On the Day of Gratitude, students of the Department of History of Kazakhstan of the U.Sultangazin Pedagogical Institute won the intellectual game "Menin Otanym – Kazakhstan", held in the Kostanay branch of ChelSU.
Teams representing the KRU took part in the intellectual game. Akhmeta Baitursynuly, ChelSU, as well as the Olympiads of the Lyceum School No. 1 and No. 2.
The game consisted of two semi-finals and a final. The university team was represented by students of history teachers of the 2nd and 3rd courses Genghis Khan Galimzhanov, Valery Lebedev, Pavel Skupov, Mahmut Telbayev, Ilham Tutaev. The game was organized and the team was trained by the teachers of the department, Acting Associate Professor Aibek Shalgimbekov, head of the department Rauan Baidaly and Master of History Aziz Turebaev.
The game was held in the format of "What? Where? When?" The game was interesting and exciting due to the fact that the video questions were thought out and came from different parts of the world - Vietnam, Kaliningrad, Germany, USA, Sevastopol, Chelyabinsk, and of course, from Kostanay.
In the first round between the university teams of KRU and ChelSU, the score was 5:0. The Olympiad team of Lyceum school No. 2 reached the final against KRU. However, in a worthy struggle, the KRU students won with a score of 5:2. Pavel Skupov, a 3rd year student of history, made a great contribution to the victory. The winners were awarded prizes – notebooks, and colored bracelets became consolation prizes for the participants of the game.
The Department of History of Kazakhstan held a series of events in connection with the Day of Gratitude: meetings and talks in schools in Kostanay, meetings of students with veterans of the war in Afghanistan, lectures at the Department of the Penal System in the Kostanay region.
The intellectual game "Menin Otanym - Kazakhstan" became the final event of the Department of History of Kazakhstan of the U.Sultangazin Pedagogical Institute in connection with the Day of Gratitude and left a vivid mark in the memory of the participants.
