THE FINAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL SAGRIS PROJECT

On December 9, 2022, the final conference of the multinational SAGRIS educational project "Improving postgraduate education in the field of sustainable agriculture and agro-systems of the future" was held on the basis of KazNARU (Almaty). The conference was held in offline and online format with the participation of a Consortium of 5 partners of the European Union, 4 universities of Russia and 4 universities of Kazakhstan. The delegation of Kostanay Regional University named after A.Baitursynov was represented by the project coordinator from the university, specialist of the Department of Science and Commercialization, PhD, Indira Aitzhanova, as well as members of the working group, PhD – Lyazzat Seleuova, Candidate of Technical Sciences- Oleg Benyukh, PhD - Ekaterina Ekaterinskaya and senior lecturer – Gulzhan Kazkenova.

The aim of the project is to improve the training of doctoral students in accordance with international quality standards, to acquire new knowledge for making effective decisions in the field of sustainable agriculture and agricultural systems of the future.

Kostanay Regional University named after A.Baitursynov has been participating in the implementation of the project since 2020, within the framework of which four modules have been developed by the teaching staff of partner universities:

Module 1 "Smart agriculture and digitalization".

Module 2 "Crop and animal husbandry systems in the context of climate change".

Module 3 "Modern methods of scientific research".

Module 4 "Transdisciplinary research methods for sustainable agriculture".

A.Baitursynov KRU is a leader in module 2 "Crop and livestock production systems in the context of climate change", which studies the impact and consequences of climate change on food security in the context of climate change.

In conclusion, the participants of the final conference highly appreciated the results obtained in the implementation of an international project that will increase the potential of young scientists in the field of sustainable agriculture and agricultural systems of the future.

In her speech, SAGRIS Project Manager (University of Applied Sciences of Nurtingen-Geislingen, Germany), Dr. Angeliki Thomas, noted that over the past two years, project participants have actively attended four different modules and training seminars at universities in Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland and the Czech Republic. In turn, the participants of the final conference expressed the opinion that this meeting will give a new impetus to the further research activities of young scientists.

Also, in the period from December 5 to 8, 2022, the second block seminar on module 3 "Modern methods of scientific research" was held with the participation of partners of the European Union and universities of Kazakhstan.

The block seminar was interesting and eventful for both doctoral students and teachers. During the event, doctoral students worked in groups, mastered lectures on the principles and stages of writing a grant application, cost and risk management, the art of successful presentation, publication, shared their experience of participating in the implementation of grant projects, preparing scientific publications, and presented group projects.
