The Department of Applied Linguistics held the VIII International Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Understanding the world through language: country, history, culture", which was attended by students and undergraduates from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus Republic.
The moderators of the conference were senior teachers of the Department Aikumis Abdibekova and Olesya Koval.
The goal of the conference is to discuss scientific and practical research results, exchange ideas, and attract youth to science. The conference listened to reports on the relationship between language and culture, socio-political problems of society, new aspects in education, science, and culture within the program "Ruhani Zhangyru". Students prepared reports seriously, most of the speakers became deeply familiar with the topics of their reports, which allowed them to maintain a discussion, answer teachers' and students' questions.
