The Experiment continues

Baitursynuly University has summarized the initial results of a scientific experiment conducted in collaboration with Chinese scientists.

Shan Weixing, a professor at Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (NWAFU, China), visited KRU once again.

As part of the experiment, various types of seeds were brought from China, including 10 varieties of wheat, 9 varieties of potatoes, 3 varieties of corn, 5 varieties of soybeans, and 1 variety of rapeseed.

Chinese colleagues are observing the work of our specialists. In the summer, they jointly visited the fields of local agricultural producers.

Based on this work, during a roundtable discussion, Professor Weixing offered specific recommendations to improve and increase the yield and productivity of various agricultural crops. He highlighted the factors that need attention to enhance the productivity of different plant varieties and breeding efforts in the Kostanay region.

The first results of joint research on the topics "Environmental Testing of Chinese Breeding Varieties" and "Testing Elite Potato Varieties" were also presented.

The discussion involved Almabek Nugmanov, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences; KRU faculty members and graduate students; and the university’s partners, including Erkin Bukanov, Director of Karqyn LLP, and Orynbay Aliyev, Director of the Kostanay Branch of the Research Institute for Plant Protection and Quarantine.

KRU Rector Seitbek Kuanyshbayev thanked Professor Shan Weixing for his visit to the university and emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation between the two universities.
