STUDENTS OF KRU WON PRIZE PLACES

3rd-year students of the Department of "Journalism and Communication  Management" of KRU named after A. Baitursynov, Ekaterina Bainyasheva and Yana Garkusha, won prizes at the international festival-competition "Planet Media", organized by the Institute of Media and Social-Humanitarian Sciences of the South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk, RF).

"More than 550 journalistic works were submitted to the competition this year. Every year the materials become higher quality and more interesting. This speaks of the serious degree of immersion of future journalists in the profession," such an assessment of the works of students from different cities of Russia and Kazakhstan was given by the Head of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations of SUSU, Doctor of Philological Sciences Lyudmila Shesterkina.

Ekaterina won 1st place in the "Television" direction in the nomination "Special TV report 'We are together'". In her work "Journalists and the law", she touched upon the issue of media activities without violating their rights.

Yana won "bronze" in the direction of "Author's projects: blogs and podcasts" in the "Students" category. In her video essay "A call to the theatre", she explained why and when it is important to put the phones in the silent mode.

Both works were prepared within the framework of the discipline "Media literacy", and the project supervisor was a teacher of the Department, Candidate of Philological Sciences Almatai Zhusupova.
