Modern requirements for the legal profession

The Department of Criminal and Civil Law and Procedure, together with stakeholders, held a discussion platform on the topic "The legal profession: improving the quality of training in accordance with modern requirements", which was organized as part of the month of methodological innovations.   The discussion was attended by representatives of the basic organizations with whom memoranda of cooperation were concluded.

These are the Police Department, the Department of Economic Investigations, the Prosecutor's Office and the Department of Judicial Administration of Kostanay region, teachers of the departments of Criminal and Civil Law and procedure, theory of state and law, representatives of the curriculum Committee, students of the 2nd and 3rd courses of the Law School "Jurisprudence", "Judicial and Law Enforcement activities".

During the discussion, suggestions were made to improve the quality of legal training, taking into account the wishes of employers.  Thus, the deputy head of the Personnel Policy Department of the Police Department, Lieutenant Colonel Zhusabaev A.B., drew attention to the current situation in society with cybercrime, which, according to experts, will persist for more than one year. And with this in mind, he suggested considering the possibility of introducing the discipline "Information Technology" into the process of training lawyers, as there is an acute shortage of specialists in this area.

Deputy Head of the Department of Judicial Administration Duisenbayev A.A. spoke about the work of the joint working group on the generalization and analysis of judicial practice. They invited students to take part in research work, using the results obtained in the future, when writing theses.

The final year students of 2024 also expressed their vision on this issue, who have already decided on the place of their future work, and are currently undergoing practical training in basic organizations.

The discussion took place in a businesslike and constructive atmosphere, the issues raised and suggestions made were taken under control and will be considered in a working manner.
