Kultayeva Dinara Sabitovna, Head of the Agronomy Department at Baitursynuly University, visited a factory in Poland where our students undergo their practical training.
The purpose of this visit was to further develop the cooperation between Kostanay Regional University and the Polish company Green Crops. This company has been operating since the mid-19th century, with its primary product today being iceberg lettuce, of which they cultivate over 30 varieties!
On 800 hectares of land, they grow iceberg and romaine lettuces, celery, broccoli, spinach, arugula, chicory, escarole, fennel, basil, and mint. The Polish farmers actively employ organic farming practices, use agro-fiber, and harvest crops from early spring until late autumn. They also implement modern technologies, such as soil parameter sensors and drones, while experimenting with new varieties.
The vegetables harvested from the fields are sent to the PrimaVega packaging plant and the Green Factory salad mix production plant. The entire cycle is integrated within the Green Holding structure.
"Of course, our students find such practical experience highly engaging. I was delighted to meet with them," noted the instructor. "I am confident that the ongoing collaboration between Kostanay Regional University and Green Crops will enhance our students' skills and strengthen international relations in the agricultural sector."
