The Department of Pedagogy and Psychology under U. Sultangazin Pedagogical Institute conducted a seminar on "Media education and media literacy: in the learning process" as part of "Panorama of innovation-2023".
The seminar was moderated by Acting Associate Professor of the Department, PhD Doctor Akbidash Abdurkenov. Attention is now being paid to students' media education in universities.
The seminar disclosed the meanings of such concepts as media education, media literacy, media culture, and mass media. Teachers shared methods and techniques for critically analyzing media texts, and noted that active teaching methods (brainstorming, group discussions, etc.) can be widely used within this form.
The seminar was prepared and conducted within the framework of the implementation of the scientific project for grant funding for young scientists for 2022-2024 by the Committee on Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Scientific basics for forming students' media literacy through media education in university".
