Baitursynuly University welcomed a scholar from Ege University (Turkey), Muvaffak Duranlı.
The guest from sunny Izmir will deliver lectures for students and faculty of the Department of Philology and Practical Linguistics at Baitursynuly University. Muvaffak Duranlı has many years of experience working at the Institute of Turkic World Studies. His research focuses on the mythology, folklore, and literature of Turkic peoples.
The scholar was greeted by the university's rector, Seitbek Kuanyshbayev, who introduced him to the university and wished him success.
“This is my first time in Kazakhstan and Kostanay,” the scholar shared. “My impressions are very positive. What a clean and beautiful city you have! I’m delighted to see that the old architecture is well-preserved here. I must also mention the people—friendly, polite, and always ready to help and answer questions.”
It is worth noting that faculty members from Baitursynuly University completed internships at Ege University earlier this year. The reciprocal visit of the Turkish scholar marks a new stage in international collaboration.
