Dinara Kuduzulova, a student of A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University representing Kostanay district, participated in the international tournament IBSA JUDO GRAND PRIX TOKIO, considered one of the most prestigious in the world for para-judo. The tournament took place on December 4-5.
Dinara's preparation for this event began almost immediately after her sensational performance at the Asian Games in late October in China, where she secured third place.
In Japan, 180 athletes from 45 countries gathered for the tournament. Dinara was close to reaching the final but ultimately competed for the third place against a representative from Egypt. In the bronze medal match, the athlete from Tobyl confidently secured victory (ippon) over her opponent.
Dinara competes in the 70 kg weight category in the J1 class (visually impaired). In total, the Kazakhstan team won 10 medals of various ranks at this tournament, including 1 gold, 4 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
For Dinara Kuduzulova, this is already the third bronze medal in major competitions. She has been practicing para-judo for only a year and started her sports journey on the advice of her elder daughter.
The main goal for the judoka next year is to qualify for the Paralympics in Paris 2024.
