On February 2, the fourth local English pronunciation contest Spelling Bee Kostanay 2020 was held on the basis of the American corner.
The competition for the pronunciation of English words of various levels of difficulty ended in the 17th round. The best spellers were Shynar Alitanova (Chelyabinsk State University), Ksenia Amelina (1st year student of the specialty "Foreign Philology"of A. Baitursynov Kostanay State University, winner of the rector's grant) and Alibi Amirgaliev (Kostanay State Pedagogical University).
The words were spoken by Kerim Gales, Fulbright ETA. The judges were Elena Bozhko, a graduate of the US Department of State program, Bryce Moore, Fulbright ETA, and Tatiana Kim, a senior lecturer at Grand Luxe Language center, a presenter and participant in previous Spelling Bee contests.
The winners of the contest will go to Nur-Sultan for the Republican tour, which will take place in March.
