A seminar was held in the KRU auditorium for professors, students, and representatives of the Kostanay region Department of Police to address the prevention of false terrorism incidents and the algorithm of action in the event of man-made disaster situations (terrorism).
The main speaker, Amanteldi Bapinov, Senior Investigator for Particularly Important Cases, Department for Counterterrorism, Kostanay Region Police Department, reminded those present about the legal responsibility for committing crimes related to false acts of terrorism.
According to the police department, the number of false terrorists is increasing each year. In 2021, 77 criminal cases were initiated, and in 2022, 193 cases were initiated. Under Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the penalty for such a crime is up to 5 years of imprisonment or restriction of liberty, as well as a fine that can reach 5,000 monthly calculation indexes, equivalent to 17 million tenge.
The department representatives also explained the steps to take when encountering an explosive device.
