The celebration of Science Day in Kazakhstan was not coincidental. It was chosen to coincide with the birthday of a person who played a significant role in the organization of scientific activities in Kazakhstan –Kanysh Imantaevich Satpayev.
Today, a round table dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding scientist was held at Baitursynuly University.
Kanysh Satpayev, a Soviet geologist and Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, discovered unique deposits in the country and devoted his entire life to science. Satpayev's name is honored in Kazakhstan with schools, streets, a city, and a university in Almaty bearing his name. - The Rector of Baitursynuly University noted, Seitbek Kuanyshbayev.
The participants of the round table not only learned about Kanysh Satpayev's development as a scientist but also took a virtual tour of the Satpayev Museum at Satbayev University and his ancestral home in Bayanaul.
The event was concluded bythe awarding of employees of KRU, who got honorary diplomas and letters of appreciation from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
