"Restoration of forests of Kostanay region after fires"

A round table on the topic was held at the A. Baitursynov KRU Department of Biology, Ecology and Chemistry: "Restoration of forests of Kostanay region after fires".

The purpose of the event was to discuss the state and problems of forest ecosystems after the fire of Kostanay region.

Rector of Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Kuanyshbayev Seitbek Bekenovich made a welcoming speech.

The round table was opened by the report of the head of the Department of Biology, Ecology and Chemistry Yunusova Gulnara Batyrbekovna. In her speech, G.B. Yunusova presented a complete chronology of a large-scale natural disaster in the Amankaragai forest in early September 2022.

During the round table, Ph.D., Professor of Forestry Engineering University (Sofia, Bulgaria) made speechesTashev Aleksandar Nikolov, as well as, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Senior Researcher, Institute of Systematics and Ecology SB RAS, (Novosibirsk, Russia) Soloviev Sergey Alexandrovich, who gave recommendations on the most effective methods of restoration of Amankaragai forests,

Then the report was presented by Sergey Kozhevnikov, Master of Biology, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Biology, Ecology and Chemistry. Kozhevnikov S.K. spoke about advanced technologies and the possibilities of using remote methods to assess the existing consequences that have arisen in the Amankaragai forest.

In general, the round table was held in a constructive conversation. Plans for further research on the territory of the Amankaragai forest were discussed in order to determine the level of ecosystem disturbance, as well as to identify the early stages of successions and the possibility of predicting changes in the state of the disturbed ecosystem in the near and long term.

At the end of the round table, it was decided to prepare draft preliminary recommendations, which will reflect specific proposals for the restoration of the Amankaragai forest.
