On the occasion of the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a roundtable was held at the Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov, in collaboration with the Public Development Department of the Kostanay Region akimat, on the topic: "Ensuring constitutionalism and protecting human rights and freedoms in the context of historical heritage."
On August 30, 1995, a republican referendum took place, during which the fifth in the history of Kazakhstan and the second in the history of sovereign and independent Kazakhstan Constitution was adopted, entering into force on September 5 of the same year. This Constitution marked a new stage in constitutional development in Kazakhstan.
The head of the political work department of the Public Development Department of the Kostanay Region akimat, Asel Zhumagaliyevna Kulmagambetova, welcomed the participants with a welcoming speech.
The roundtable discussed the main results and further prospects for ensuring constitutionalism in Kazakhstan; historical aspects of protecting the rights and freedoms of individuals in our country.
The roundtable was attended by law enforcement officials, the regional universal scientific library named after L.N. Tolstoy, regional archives, scientists from universities in Kazakhstan and the Kostanay region.
