In honor of Science Day, a group of KRU scientists named after A. Baitursynov was awarded with gratitude letters from the Minister of Higher Education and Science and the akim of the Kostanay region.
For two years, starting from 2021, Kostanay scientists have been conducting scientific and research work as part of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.K.Tokayev and the State Commission for the Full Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions. A similar commission was created in the Kostanay region, which included scientists - historians of A. Baitursynov Kostanay Regional University, where the office "Center for the Study and Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions" was opened.
During this project, the historians repeatedly went on field expeditions in the region to search and collect materials, prepared databases on non-rehabilitated citizens. An interactive map has been created by the scientists, showing mass burial sites in the Kostanay region, a monograph "Repressions and Deportations in the Territory of the Kostanay Region in 1920-1940" has been published, and a series of scientific papers on this topic have been prepared. In total, 2413 people were applied for rehabilitation in the two years of the project's work.
The work of scientists, who made a huge contribution to the issue of restoring historical justice, was properly appreciated. At a meeting of the regional commission for the full rehabilitation of victims of political repressions, the gratitude letters from the Minister of Higher Education and Science Sayasat Nurbek were given to the candidates of historical sciences, associate professors Alibek Tabuldenov and Serikzhan Ismailov.
The Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Aidar Aitmukhambetov, Candidates of Historical Sciences, Associate Professors Elmira Nauryzbayeva and Rauan Baidaly, and Master of Humanities Ruslan Zhusupov have been awarded letters of thanks by the Akim of Kostanay region.
