From September 20 to 23, 2023, the VII World Congress of Mathematicians of the Turkic World (TWMS Congress-2023) took place at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasawi (IKTU, Turkestan). Initiated by the Turkic World Mathematical Society (TWMS) with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the congress aimed to expand international relations and scientific cooperation among scholars.
A total of 527 scholars from 20 countries participated in 8 plenary presentations and 10 sectional sessions, with 405 reports addressing current issues and prospects in the development of mathematical science. Scholars and experts in the fields of differential equations, functional analysis, mathematical and computer modeling, and inverse and ill-posed problems from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Kazakhstan delivered presentations. Baitursynov University was represented by Professor Roza Ysmağul, who presented a report on the application of systems of differential equations in epidemiology. This presentation was chosen based on its relevance and practical significance for the modern world.
As part of cultural exchange, conference participants were taken on excursions to museums preserving monuments from medieval Turkestan. All participants received certificates, commemorative gifts, and badges. The next World Congress of Mathematicians of the Turkic World is planned to be held in the capital of Turkey, Ankara, in three years.
