Over 100 students from 7-11 grades of regional schools visited the Ecological School, inaugurated at A. Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University. Before the event, an exhibition by the "Ecolife" club showcased handmade items from waste materials, such as bags sewn from old clothes and Christmas ornaments from various materials, including paper. The students then toured the university, including the region's only Entomological Museum with over 25,000 exhibits.
The "Ecolife" club, established in 2021 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, played a key role in opening the school. This project, initiated by faculty students, focused on environmental activities, combating litter on and around the university grounds. The club's efforts not only cleaned the area but also drew the public's attention to waste issues in natural recreation areas. The Ecological School aims not only for environmental education but also emphasizes youth responsibility for the environment.
One of the school's main objectives is the professional preparation of school students. Various environmental events, including scientific project competitions, conferences, Olympiads, and training sessions, will take place within the university, enriching knowledge in ecology and motivating students to pursue environmental specialties. The school organizers hope that those who visited today are passionate about environmental issues, paving the way for deeper exploration within the university.
A concert, prepared by students, concluded the official part of the event.
