At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Energy, and Information Technology, as part of the Engineering Academy, the "Day of Entertaining Physics" was held for students from schools in the city and region. On this day, schoolchildren had the opportunity to conduct simple physics experiments themselves and then try to explain them with the help of scientists.
Professor of the Department of Mathematics and Physics Vladimir Poezzhalov and senior lecturer, master Yuri Martyniuk demonstrated experiments such as piercing a bag with water with a sharp pencil, a magic cylinder rolling uphill by itself, waterproof gauze suddenly stopping water from passing through, and the experiment with a tin can telephone, which was almost forgotten by modern generations.
35 students from grades 4-9 of schools No. 2, 8, 10, 23 in Kostanay, as well as from Arkalyk, Lisakovsk, Auliekol, Karabalik, Fedorov, Kamystinsky districts, and the Druzhbin middle school, could not only observe this process in real-time as the entire event was broadcasted through the schools' social networks but also participate in the experiment under the guidance of their teachers.
It is worth reminding that BAITUTSYNULY UNIVERSITY presented the Engineering Academy in October 2023.
One of the tasks of the Engineering Academy is to attract talented youth, primarily schoolchildren, for professional orientation and the choice of engineering specialties and educational institutions. It is also worth noting that all classes are held free of charge on the principle of extracurricular activities.
