Competition for the President's Scholarship of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Second Half of 2024

Students can submit documents for the competition for the President's Scholarship of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the second half of the 2024 calendar year until June 18, 2024.

The procedure for awarding the Presidential Scholarship is in accordance with the Rules for the appointment of scholarships established by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 7, 2011, No. 136.

Requirements for applicants:

  1. The scholarship is awarded to students of full-time study from the 3rd year and master's students from the 2nd year, studying with excellent grades (A, A-) both on the basis of a state educational order and on a fee-paying basis.
  2. The scholarship is awarded to the following categories of students:
    • Winners of republican and international olympiads, creative contests, sports competitions, festivals, or authors of discoveries and inventions;
    • Students with publications in collections of scientific papers, in republican and international scientific journals;
    • Students actively engaged in scientific research, with successes confirmed by diplomas, certificates, or awards;
    • Students who actively participate in public, cultural, and sports activities at educational institutions.

Selection Process for Applicants:

  1. The applicant submits a package of documents according to the list to the Deputy Director/Dean for Student Affairs. The Deputy Director for Student Affairs checks the documents for compliance with the requirements and passes them to the Commission Secretary by June 19, 2024.
  2. The Commission analyzes the submitted documents for further review at the University Academic Council meeting.
    Selection is based on the requirements for applicants. In case of equal conditions, priority is given to:
    • Orphans and children left without parental care;
    • Persons with disabilities from childhood, children with disabilities.
  3. The Academic Council makes the decision on awarding the Presidential Scholarship individually for each applicant.
  4. The scholarship is awarded by the rector of the university based on the Academic Council’s decision.

List of Documents for Participation in the Competition (to be submitted in both paper and electronic formats):

  1. Application from the student addressed to the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KRU named after A. Baitursynov for participation in the competition for the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Kazakhstan (templates in Kazakh and Russian). File name: Surname_application.doc;
  2. Copy of the student's identification document. File name: Surname_ID.doc;
  3. Transcript for the entire period of study (including results of all exams from the summer session of the 2023-2024 academic year). The transcript can be ordered through the Platonus system after all summer session exams have been graded. File name: Surname_transcript.doc;
  4. Copies of documents confirming the applicant’s achievements in 2023 (diplomas, certificates, awards, etc.). Each confirming document must be scanned as a separate file: Surname_Document Name. All files with supporting documents should be collected in the folder: Surname_Achievements.
  5. The files with the application, ID, transcript, and the folder with personal achievements should be collected in a folder with the name: Folder name: Full name of the applicant (Surname Name Patronymic).
