Exchange of experience by specialists from EKA University

Within the framework of the Erasmus + 609870-EPP-1-2019-1-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP project - Accelerating ICT students' startup development competence via interdisciplinary modular courses in the HEI curricula (UXiship, based on Almaty Management University , a corporate international seminar-training was organized. The training was conducted by teachers and business representatives from the Higher School of Economics and Culture (EKA), Riga, from 7 to 11 August 2023.

The lecturers of the working groups of universities of the project partners of Kazakhstan took part in its work: the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after. Sh. Esenov, Aktau, Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynov, Kostanay, as well as teachers and students from ALMA University.

The purpose of the training is to improve the skills of teachers, students, project managers, in the field of IT and entrepreneurship, as well as to intensify cross-country cooperation and exchange of experience in rational planning when implementing a startup: from generating ideas to applying for a grant or investment.

Opening the seminar, Elena Titko, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation of EKA University, noted the particular acuteness of the problem of developing innovative student startups in the field of IT, in the context of globalization, and in this regard, the importance of holding a training event.

The week-long training was held according to a special program developed taking into account the proposed topics by the universities participating in the UXiship project.

Experts from EKA University shared modern business building models, market structure features, and ways to evaluate a business idea. The speakers spoke about the world's best practices for the effective creation of new innovative projects not by trial and error, but systematically, thoughtfully, based on knowledge and expert experience.

The training program contained a large number of tasks, the solution of which is aimed at obtaining practical knowledge and skills, proven solutions, technologies and tools in the field of managing IT start-up projects.

Kazakhstani specialists from partner universities shared their experience in implementing the entrepreneurship module in the educational programs of universities, and showed the results of this implementation.

Teachers and students will apply their personal experience and knowledge and skills acquired during the training in solving case problems related to project management, creating an innovative product, market analysis, building a business model and a team.

As a result of the training, a round table was held, at which topical issues of cooperation within the framework of the project were discussed.

The recommendations of the training participants will be sent to the grant applicant. project and lead partner - Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Technology, Business and Design, Germany.
