Military department

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 10, 2016 No. 344, order of the Rector No. 14 on personnel dated July 13, 2016 on the basis of Kostanay State University. A. Baitursynov established a military department for training citizens according to the programs of reserve officers.

The tasks of the military department are: preparation of a mobilization reserve of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other troops and military formations in peacetime, as well as military-patriotic education of young people and raising the image of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Training at the department is carried out on a free and paid basis.

Among all military occupational specialties classes with students carried on working curricula approved by the Department of personnel and military education of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The teaching staff of the military department includes the officer's reserve and civilian personnel

The entire teaching staff regularly undergoes training in pedagogical skills courses organized at the university and advanced training courses at the National University of Defense.

  • A military department is systematically and purposefully carried out educational and military-patriotic work aimed at developing the high moral and psychological qualities of future officers - defenders of the Motherland.
  • On May 4, 2018, on the basis of the department, a military-patriotic club «Жәнібек Тархан» was created.  
  • Image work is actively carried out, both among university students and among schoolchildren.
  • Students of the military department are trained in the following main subjects: tactical training, drill, defense against weapons of mass destruction, fire training, Charters of the armed forces of other troops and military units of the Republic of Kazakhstan, military topography, military technical training, etc.

 

The benefits of training in the military department

  • Trainees who have completed a full course of military training under the program of reserve officers are given the military rank of “lieutenant of reserve”
  • Military training takes place simultaneously with civilian training, that is, the student does not lose time for release for military service in the army, but immediately receives a military ID;
  • Officer rank is an additional advantage in employment after graduation.

The form and terms of military training

  • The form of organization of military training - the method of "military day".
  • The term of military training is 2 years.

 

Acceptance of documents is carried out in the year of the competition and ends 10 working days before the start of the selection committee.

Military training involves first-year students with 4 years of study and second courses with 5 years of study students - citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the age of 2 4 years old, fit for military service for health reasons, are registered at the military registration office in the city Kostanay. Students enrolled in the second year of the university after graduation are eligible to participate in the competitive selection on a general basis after the end of the school year at the university.

For successful enrollment in the number of students of the military department, you must go through three stages:

  • Passage of medical examination in accordance with the Rules of the military-medical examination.
  • Conducting professional psychological testing.

Psychological testing is aimed at determining the degree of compliance of your moral and business qualities of the military profession. Also determined by the level of reserve capabilities and professional and personal potential.

  • The test result “Not recommended”means that you have not passed this stage of selection and are not allowed to the next stage.
  • In the case of a positive result (recommended first, recommended second, recommended), this stage is considered to be completed.
  • Check physical fitness.

Each standard of physical fitness is assessed individually. The overall score for physical fitness is derived by summing the scores for the three exercises. When calculating the total score, a rating of "unsatisfactory" is counted as zero points.

      For further participation of the candidate in the competitive selection, it is necessary to gain a total physical training score of at least 8 points.

      A candidate who scores a general physical fitness score of less than 8 points is not allowed to the next stage.

      The enrollment of students for military training is made by the head of the university on the basis of the protocol of the selection committee, as proposed by the head of the military department.

 

 In accordance with the program of training reserve officers, training sessions at the military department of KSU named after A. Baitursynov are held in the following disciplines:

  • Educational and socio-legal work;
  • History of military art and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Military pedagogy and psychology;
  • Military law;
  • Charters of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Military engineering training;
  • Drill;
  • Tactical training;
  • Military topography;
  • Fire training;
  • Technical training;
  • Combat use of communications, etc.

   After a full course of theoretical studies of the military department students take training sessions with military units.
