Announcement of the Competition for the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the First Half of 2026

Dear students, Document submission for the competition for the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the first half of 2026 is open until 31 December 2025.

The awarding procedure for the Presidential Scholarship is carried out in accordance with the Rules for Awarding Scholarships Established by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by Order No. 136 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 7 April 2011.

The allocation of scholarships among higher education institutions (HEIs) is performed proportionally to the total number of full-time undergraduate and graduate students in HEIs across Kazakhstan.

HEIs with fewer than 700 full-time undergraduate and graduate students are not eligible to receive scholarship quotas.

Eligibility Requirements

The scholarship is awarded to:

The scholarship may be awarded to the following categories of students:

  1. Winners of national and international Olympiads, creative competitions, sports tournaments, festivals, or authors of scientific discoveries and inventions.
  2. Students with publications in collections of scientific works or in national and international academic journals.
  3. Students actively engaged in research activities, with achievements confirmed by diplomas, certificates, or letters of merit.
  4. Students actively participating in the social, cultural, and sports life of their educational institution.

Only achievements confirmed by official documents are considered.

Procedure for Candidate Selection

  1. The candidate must upload scanned copies of all supporting documents to the Platonus system and also submit an electronic set of documents (high-quality scans) to the deputy dean responsible for student affairs.
    Candidates who fail to upload documents to Platonus will not be admitted to the competition.
  2. The deputy dean for student affairs checks the documents for compliance and submits them to the Secretary of the Commission by 31 December 2025.
  3. The Commission reviews the submitted documents for further consideration by the Academic Council of the university.

List of Required Documents

  1. Application addressed to the Chair of the Board – Rector of A. Baitursynuly KRU (templates in Kazakh and Russian).

  2. Copy of the student’s identity document
    File name: Surname_ID.doc
  3. Transcript for the entire period of study (including results of all exams from the Winter Session 2025–2026).
    The transcript must be requested via the Platonus personal account.
    File name: Surname_transcript.doc
  4. Scanned originals of documents confirming the candidate’s achievements in 2025
    (diplomas, certificates, awards, etc.).
    Each document must be scanned into a separate file: Surname_DocumentName
    All achievement files must be placed in a folder named: Surname_PersonalAchievements
  5. All files — the application, ID, transcript, and the achievements folder — must be placed into one main folder named:
    Surname FirstName Patronymic of the candidate
  6. Example of an electronic folder structure is provided.

The document package must be submitted to the deputy director of the institute / dean of the faculty for student affairs no later than 31 December 2025.
