On December 27, 2023, at the Kostanay Allur plant, master’s students of the educational program “7M05201-Geoecology and Environmental Management” successfully defended their projects on the topic “Management and recycling of industrial waste” as part of the implementation of the Erasmus project + Advancing circular economy in partner countries by development and implementation of Master program "Waste management"/ (UnWaste) .
During the entire course of the discipline “Rational Energy Use of Industrial Wastes and Energy Saving,” master’s students studied a number of cases on waste management, under the guidance of Ph.D. Head of the Department of Electric Power Engineering Koshkin I.V. and teacher of the Department of Mathematics and Physics Ogarkova A.I. After theoretical training, master's students began practical work, introducing the acquired knowledge into solving real production problems.
At the Allur plant, undergraduates studied three topics - processing wood waste, paper and polyethylene. Organizational support for the master's students' research was provided by Sania Imentaeva, head of the Higher School of Engineering, Allur University specialist Bakyttyzhuldyz Bayanbaeva, as well as the head of Allur University Lyudmila Yuryevna Olkinyan. In addition, technical and information support was provided by the head of the safety and labor protection service of the Allur plant, Agdavletov Erbolat Satybaldinovich, and environmental engineer Saparbekova Amina Serikovna.
As a result, the master's students proposed and successfully defended original solutions within the framework of implementing the project's objectives, which were supported with great enthusiasm by specialists from the plant and Allur University.
All participants expressed the opinion that involving students of higher educational institutions in design and research activities on the basis of specific enterprises and productions allows them to form general cultural competencies and gain new knowledge in the field of design, allows them to learn how to competently formulate a design concept, generate innovative solutions, master the scientific fundamentals and methods of technology transfer.
